Obituary of Alexandra Stefanski Moore

Mrs. Alexandra “Alex” Stefanski Moore, age 79, a resident of Auburndale went home to Heaven on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Lakeland Regional surrounded by her family. Mrs. Moore was born February 19, 1943, Mount Clemens, Michigan to William Benjamin and Alexandra (Maikoski) Stefanski. She moved with her family from their farm in Michigan to Auburndale in 1956. Alex graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1961 and was honored in the Auburndale Hall of Fame and chosen as a senior superlative as Most Talented. She graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Therapy from the University of Miami. She and her husband  were the co-owners of Moore Plumbing in Auburndale for many years. Alex enjoyed cooking, traveling with her husband to many destinations and spending time with her family. Her love of cooking was shared with her family at the many holiday gatherings she would host. Alex loved to cook and was always eager to try a new recipe. Alex was an accomplished dancer, training professionally at Summer Stock in Kennebunkport, Maine. She performed in several productions, a couple of which were “Paint Your Wagon” and “Oklahoma”. Alexandra was always beautiful in so many ways and her beauty was recognized when she was hired as a Southern Belle at Cypress Gardens. Gardening was also a passion close to her heart. She and Bill spent many hours planting flowers around their lovely mountain home in North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents and the most tragic loss of her two daughters – Jeannine & Gretchen. Alex is survived by her loving and devoted family and husband of 33 years – Bill Moore of Auburndale; children – William Scott Moore and Jennifer Leigh Joiner both of Winter Haven; 2 brothers – William “Bill” Stefanski and his wife Deborah of Polk City and John Thomas Stefanski, Sr. of Almont, MI.; 1 sister – Katherene “Kay” Stefanski of Auburndale; a granddaughter – Faith Clark and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. As per Alex’s request there are no services scheduled at this time.
