Obituary of Mary Kathryn Hoover

Mrs. Mary “Kathy” Kathryn Hoover, age 66 a resident of Winter Haven passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Lakeland Regional with her husband at her side. Mrs. Hoover was born July 28, 1954 in Akron, Ohio to Mary Jean Detritch. She was a Winter Haven resident since 2006 coming from Kissimmee and a homemaker. Kathy was a member of Auburndale Community Church where she was an active volunteer in the food bank, bereavement family meals and cooking for the church before Wednesday night Bible study. She was a member of AMSA (Aviation Missionary Support Association) and the Winter Haven American Legion. Kathy sold Real Estate and loved to go airplane flying with her husband. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, antiques and spending time with her husband. Kathy is survived by her loving & devoted husband of 13 years – Mike Hoover of Winter Haven; daughter – Jamie; sister – Rebecca and many friends. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, January 23rd at Auburndale Community Church, 601 Stadium Rd., Auburndale. A gathering of family & friends will be held before from 2:00 until 3:00 pm at the church.
